I am an Associate Professor of Applied Economics. I obtained my Ph.D. in economics from University Putra Malaysia which now ranks 123rd based on QS World University Rankings for 2023. Before moving to Shanghai, China, I held several academic and research positions in Dubai, Saudi, and Malaysia. In addition, I spent several years in managerial positions outside of academia such as; Bank Aljazira, Excellence Solution Company, and Marine Building Landmark Company, to supplement my academic knowledge with practical projects application and for policy and management consultation. Currently, I am an International Associate Researcher at the Institute of Tropical Agriculture & Food Security (ITAFoS), Malaysia.
I have published more than 50 research papers in reputable international journals indexed by SSCI, SCI, SCIE, EI, and others. Moreover, I’m a Reviewer/Referee at many high-ranking SCI/SSCI journals. In 2023, I was rewarded by the Shanghai Human Resource and Social Security Bureau as “Shanghai High-Level Talent”. Also, I have received two certificates from SCI/Q1 international journal for outstanding contributions in reviewing and contributions made to the quality of the journals in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
